Andrew Smeltz
Chief Operating Officer
Mr. Smeltz is a Managing Director and the Chief Operating Officer of Trevian Capital. He oversees firm-wide operations, portfolio management, credit review and underwriting, and due diligence.
Prior to Trevian Capital, Mr. Smeltz was a Vice President at Cantor Commercial Real Estate, where he was the senior transaction manager on an originations team generating annual closed/securitized loan volume in excess of $500 million. Prior to joining Cantor Commercial Real Estate, Mr. Smeltz was a Director and served as the head underwriter at a privately held commercial real estate private equity investment firm focused in the middle market debt space. His responsibilities also included portfolio valuations, performing workouts of distressed loans, and managing a portfolio of REO assets of various property types throughout the country. Mr. Smeltz’s additional professional experience includes positions at Bear Stearns (CMBS group), Bank of New York Mellon, and M&T Bank.
Mr. Smeltz is a member of the Mortgage Bankers Association (MBA), the Pension Real Estate Association (PREA), and the Yale Alumni Real Estate Association. He holds a BA in Government from Cornell University and an MBA from Yale University with concentrations in Finance and Leadership/Organizational Behavior.
